WHAT GENERALLY HAPPENS TO A CHICKEN DOG?

If you do not know I will not tell you....

but THAT is what was scheduled!

It is a very special thing when you have a German shepherd for 7 years-just you and him. He watches the grandkids and goes for walks and chases ball....I love this dog!

When he started chasing and killing chickens I planned on training this out of him with a shock collar or something. When he killed my HUGE Buff Orpington Rooster who was defending his hens, that was it! When I saw my favorite Rooster lying there, I not only grieved his loss, but I grieved the loss of my wonderful companion and friend, my dog. He had sealed his fate. After the death of the Rooster, I began asking around and searching for a chickenless home, while he kept chasing and killing any chicken that fluttered. I stopped counting at 16.

Other than his chicken habit he is such a great dog! He loves children and people and he is so well behaved and eager to please.
My DF Beth placed an ad on Craiglist and Ebay, and I talked to every person I came in contact with and emailed and facebooked everyone too. It was such a waste of a good dog to just put him down.It occurred to me that I had not really asked God for HIS help in this matter, so with his d
ead line fast approaching, I asked God for HIS help.

SUNDAY morning was IT and he was still here! A few people had
emailed me but nothing had come of it.

As you all know, you can not have chickens without a guard dog....to keep the racoons and possums and cats away. A slovensky cuvac is a dog that is bred to guard poultry, sheep or goats. My DF Jan bought a puppy for the JoyHouse flock and it was coming home on Sunday.

Old dogs teach new puppies so Enoch had to be GONE
and here it was Sunday Morning.... OMG! It seemed inevitable. He was doomed...

On the way to "TinBuckToo" to pick up new puppy, I checked my email from the phone and had another response from the ebay ad my DF Beth had placed, asking if the German was still available.
I dialed the number that was posted......
GOD is never too late and never too early BUT RIGHT ON TIME!

Christina was so gentle and sweet and took right to Enoch.

So off she went with my sweet German and his doggy towel and his tennis balls. Now not only does Enoch have a chickenfree new home, he also has an upgrade. He has gone from being a one acre outside dog with occasional visits from grandkids,
to a THREE acre inside/outside dog with a 7 yr old and a 10 yr old little girl. God is so so good!
I got a call from the family this
evening just to tell me that he had already started bonding with the Father and that the girls just love him! He was on a huge blanket in the living room enjoying his new family!

GOD IS SO AMAZING! He cares! Enoch is happy and laying on a couch in a new familys living room, and Joey is stretched out and snoring at the JoyHouse. I have
turned the first page to a new chapter and closed the old. Moving forward and
forever changing and growing. Thank You God for loving me!
